The Leitrim Intercultrual Forum and Womens Group were established in 2010 in response to the increased ethnic diversity in the County. These two community groups act as a representative voice for the many diverse communities now living in County Leitrim and provide training, information, advocacy, support and social activities to its members.

Today, it has more than 30 members from all parts of the world countywide.

After a break in activity we have now secured funding under the PEACE III Programme and are planning a full programme of events in 2012/2013. We warmly welcome new members from all ethnic and cultural groups around the county and expect more members and groups to come on board.

The Programme has established outreach services in two central hubs North and South of the county in The Beepark Community Centre Manorhamilton and The Market Yard Carrick on Shannon where monthly meetings, mentoring, social activities, training and community events will take place.

We will be working closely with immigrant communities throughout the county to develop a strong intercultural network of volunteers who are interested in building their own capacity and getting more involved in the community.

If you are interested in being part of the Intercultural Forum or Women’s Group or know someone who would benefit from getting involved please get in touch

This project is funded under the Leitrim’s Intercultural Support Programme.

The Intercultural Support Programme has been supported by the European Union’s  Phase 2 PEACE III Programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body and delivered by the County Leitrim PEACE III Partnership.
